Inside Look: Preview the ASMBS 30th Anniversary

Published in September 2013 Issue

Preparations are already underway to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the ASMBS. Through a range of activities, members will be able to explore the society's rich history, read about members who have shaped our understanding of obesity and metabolic and bariatric surgery, and contribute to our future.

A new commemorative website, asmbs30.org, will serve as the cyber hub for all our activities. This site will be continually updated as we head into ObesityWeek 2013 in Atlanta. Look regularly for pictures and words from the past and wishes for a bright and successful future. See 30 members who made a difference, the presidents of the ASMBS and what marked their tenure, and how Integrated Health has evolved over the years.

Members will be able to submit video wishes and remembrances from the past 30 years. We will have a virtual candle that can be lit with a contribution to the ASMBS Foundation. Will it be $1 for each year or $30 or even more? Every contribution makes a difference.

Thirty years has brought ASMBS and its members a long list of achievements. But there's so much more for us to do. Visit www.asmbs30.org.
