ObesityWeek 2017 Exhibit Hall

ObesityWeek 2017 featured the largest exhibit hall of its kind with more than 265 booths showcasing the latest products, services and technologies in obesity treatment from companies and organizations from throughout the world.



ASMBS Foundation LEAD Awards Luncheon

The ASMBS Foundationís annual LEAD Awards opened with the presentation of the colors and a fife and drum performance, held on October 30, 2017 at the Gaylord National Convention Center. The annual awards luncheon honors individuals who have shown outstanding leadership and dedication to the field of metabolic and bariatric surgery. ASMBS past president John Morton, MD, receives the ASMBS Foundation
2017 Outstanding Achievement Award. (Left) Robin Blackstone, MD, receives the Dr. Ronald Clements Patient Safety and Quality Award.
(Right) Dale S. Bond, PhD, receives the Integrated Health Circle of Excellence Natan Zundel, MD, receives the Master Educator Award. Nina Crowley, PhD, receives the Excellence in Nutrition Award.




ObesityWeek 2017 Keynote Speakers

Rudolph L. Leibel, MD, Head of the Division of Molecular Genetics in the Columbia University Department of Pediatrics and Professor, gives the opening keynote address.

Jens Juul Holst, MD, DMSc, Professor of Medical Physiology and Deputy Head of the Department of Biomedical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, gives the Integrated Health keynote address.


Kevin Hall, PhD, senior investigator in the Laboratory of Biological Modeling at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), gives the 28th Annual Mason Lecture, named in honor of ASMBS Founder Edward E. Mason, MD, PhD.
