ASMBS ObesityWeek 2017 Abstracts Submission Deadline Extended!

The ASMBS abstract submission deadline for ObesityWeek has been extended to May 8th at 11:59pm PST. The ASMBS is accepting abstracts for oral, poster, video, integrated health and behavioral health forums. Topic categroies include:

ASMBS to Hold 4th National Obesity Collaborative Care Summit in Chicago

The ASMBS is holding its 4th Annual National Obesity Collaborative Care Summit in Chicago from September 15 to 16. Representatives from health organizations will attend to discuss issues of obesity and its treatment. Last year, more than 30 groups were represented including the American Psychological Association, Obesity Medicine Association, American Gastrointestinal Association, The Endocrine Society and Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Obesity Action Coalition Announces Geisinger Health System as a Your Weight Matters Convention Scholarship Program Matching Gift Partner

The OACís Your Weight Matters National Convention announced The Geisinger Health System is a Convention Scholarship Program Matching Gift Partner. Each year the OAC awards a handful of scholarships to ensure more people can attend YWM2017. Geisinger Health System is the first-ever Matching Gift Partner of the OACís Convention Scholarship Program. Geisinger Health Systemís pledge to match every gift dollar-for-dollar, up to $5,000, will create opportunities for more individuals to receive education and will double the impact of donation to the Scholarship Program between April 4 and April 17.

Walk from Obesity Gets Ready for Spring

The ASMBS Foundationís Walk from Obesity 2017 is gearing up for Spring. The event to raise awareness about obesity and its treatment and raise funds for research, professional education and access to care initiatives has four Spring walks planned for Boston, Maryland/DC area, Hackensack, NJ and North Texas.
