Cleveland Clinic Florida Hosts Foregut Symposium, February 15 to 19

Cleveland Clinic Florida will host the 13th Annual Surgery of the Foregut Symposium on February 15 to 19 at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Florida. Bariatric surgeons and healthcare professionals will have an opportunity to participate in a variety of discussions about new and established areas in gastrointestinal surgery, including the surgical aspects of conventional, laparoscopic, robotic and endoscopic surgery of the foregut. OAC Welcomes New Chair and Board Members for 2014

Early this month, the Obesity Action Coalition (OAC) announced Ted Kyle, RPh, MBA, is the new Chairman of the Coalition. Kyle was the recipient of the 2012 OAC "Member of the Year.” In a press release Kyle said, “The OAC is unlike any other obesity-focused non-profit. The OAC truly represents those affected by this disease and fights on a daily basis to ensure those affected are respectfully represented in all areas, such as advocacy, combating weight bias and discrimination, treatment and much more. I hope my service can complement the passion and determination of all our members.” The OAC also added Tammy Beaumont, BSN, RN, CBN; Walter Medlin, MD, FACS; and Melinda J. Minimally Invasive Surgery Symposium (MISS) Takes Place February 26
to March 1

The 14th Annual Minimally Invasive Surgery Symposium (MISS) is scheduled for February 26 to March 1 in Las Vegas. The symposium promises to offer compelling lectures, surgical video presentations, and lively discussion and debate by world-renowned experts on advanced laparoscopic techniques for managing metabolic disorders, hernia, foregut and diseases of the colon.
