New Integrated Health Section on ASMBS Website!

Published in August Issue

On behalf of the Integrated Health Communication Committee, we are excited to unveil the revised Integrated Health (IH) sections of the ASMBS website.

Over the past year the committee has restructured the format and content of the website to represent the IH professionals and their needs within our society. One can easily access the IH section of the ASMBS website by clicking on the following link http://asmbs.org/integrated-health/about. The IH landing page has access to numerous subpages related to the IH professional.

The IH section of the ASMBS is a vital group of professional disciplines that are growing in their roles and responsibilities within our society and the changing landscape in the management of the metabolic and bariatric surgery patient. Some of the more recent changes in our society revolve around the MBSAQIP. We have worked with the American College of Surgeons to revise this aspect of the website. You will find links to the American College of Surgeons MBSAQIP site for easy access to resources, frequently asked questions and previously recorded resource webinars. You can access this information via the following link http://asmbs.org/integrated-health/mbsaqip.

In addition to the numerous revisions and additional resources made to the ASMBS website, the IH Communication Committee along with the IH Clinical Issues and Guidelines Committee are currently developing additional resources to enhance the value of your membership. The IH Clinical Issues and Guidelines Committee has a task force for various program resources aimed at developing and maintaining a comprehensive program for the metabolic and bariatric patient. These “Tool Kits” will serve as guidelines and frameworks to help enhance an existing program and/or to serve as a template to guide the development of a new program. Don’t forget to check out the site periodically as new content will continue to be added in the near future.

If you are interested in learning more about our current IH leadership and the current projects each IH Committee is working on, you can access that information via the following link: http://asmbs.org/integrated-health/committees.

We are always looking for new committee members for our IH committees as well as leadership positions. If you are considering joining a committee or want to learn more about IH committees, we encourage you to click the following the link to get started http://asmbs.org/apply-to-join-member-committees.
