Integrated Health President's Corner

Published in April Issue

Spring has finally sprung – well kinda’ sorta’. Here in the Northeast we are still having less than spring-like temperatures and weather. But by June 14th, the weather should be perfect for the ASMBS Weekend conference in New York City. If you have not registered yet, “spring” into action and register as space is limited:

If you are a RN or know of a RN planning to take the Certified Bariatric Nurse (CBN) certification exam, please consider attending the CBN review course which will be offered at the ASMBS Weekend event. I hope to see you there.

And… if you have not renewed your ASMBS membership, please be sure to renew now. ASMBS membership has many benefits including reduced conference fees, access to tool kit documents, free webinars and many other perks. While you’re renewing your membership, consider joining a committee. The Integrated Health committees are always looking for new members with fresh ideas. We need your help!! Several IH committees are actively seeking new members including the CBN committee, Multidisciplinary Care (MDC) committee (specific needs for an Exercise Physiologist/Physical Therapist; Pharmacist; Obesity Medicine Physician; and NP, PA or CNS) and the Communication committee. Please visit:

Lastly, the IH Town Hall Webinar was a huge success. Thank you to all who attended and submitted questions. Also, thanks to panelists Michelle Lent, chair of the MDC committee and Bill Gourash, chair of the CBN committee for sharing the work each of their committees has been very busy with. If you were not able to attend, but would like to view the webinar, visit:

As always… please feel free to contact me with any ideas, suggestions or comments for future consideration @
